About Rick Perry's Piano Services
Rick’s Piano Service is a small, home based business that is owned
and operated by Rick Perry. I have been involved in the piano tuning
and repair industry for more than 23 years with the last 18 years in
the Aitkin area.
In 1984/85 I learned piano tuning and repair at the Moody Bible
Institute in Chicago where I also did tuning and repair on many of the
Institute’s pianos. While in Chicago I also serviced pianos at the
University of Chicago. After moving to Minnesota I did in store and
warranty service for Schmidt Music of St. Cloud until moving farther
north in the summer of 1986.
I am willing to travel just about anywhere to tune pianos although it
may not be cost effective for you.
Some of my local clientele include the Aitkin School District, the Aitkin
Friends of the Arts, Westside Church, Aitkin Assembly of God
Church, Aitkin United Methodist Church, and other churches and
individuals too numerous to mention.
Rick's Piano & Music is a retail store on 2nd Street Northwest in
Aitkin. We opened on May 1, 2006. To our knowledge we are the only
music store in the area that carries traditional pianos. In addition we
carry acoustic and electric guitars, band instruments, printed music,
many accessories and gift items. We offer lessons in a variety of
disciplines including voice and strings. We have the capability to
instantly download and print many music titles with the option of
altering keys to more comfortable settings.

Since we are a family based business here is a little bit about our
family.
There are currently 4 in our household - 9 year old Dakota, 14 year
old Susan (both ours by adoption) along with Jackie and myself
(Rick). Jackie just had a birthday, but I'm not telling which one just
that we are raising our second family.
We also have 3 grown children - Jonathan (Dakota's dad), Elisabeth
who married Chris last summer and Jared. They are all close
enough to see fairly often, but not underfoot.
Dakota and Susan moved in with us 7 years ago and we adopted
them in August of 2006. They both attend school in the Aitkin school
district and enjoy school and church activities.
Jackie works part time as a nurses assistant at Riverwood Health
Care Center, occasionally as an EMT for North Ambulance and helps
out at the store in Aitkin as well as being a full-time mother.
Rick's time is spent mostly at the retail store in Aitkin helping
customers and teaching lessons. He also does outside work tuning,
servicing and moving pianos.
We are also active in the Kimberly Community Church where Rick is
pastor.
